Wood 2012 Season Preview

After an off-season of uncertainty and player movement, the 2012 Wood Baseball Club is ready to take the field. After a first week rainout, Wood will face the Blue Claws for their season opener on Sunday.

Coming off a second consecutive playoff appearance, the club is poised and ready to take another run at the post-season in 2012.

The off-season was a busy one for the team. Star third-baseman John Lanahan accepted an offer to play for the New York Paddywacks of the Eastern League and outfielder Dan Deane was brutally attacked and raped by a reindeer during a winter hunting trip in Alaska. The carnage was filmed via hoof phone and published on the popular deer network. It is now played every time a team scores a touchdown during the infamous reindeer games. The games haven't been in the news since the iconic Rudolph hit mainstream with his banishment from them. Unfortunately Rudolph is still not allowed to play in the games despite his best efforts to save Christmas.

If that wasn’t enough to make Wood faithful worry, in January news surfaced that star catcher Ryan Tovani was arrested for breaking into a San Francisco sex shop and cited for stealing 17 blowup dolls.

A the time of the arrest Tovani was questioned outside the popular sex shop.

“These dolls are for my Wood teammates for their dedication. Go Woood!”

Just as the 2012 Wood team has been busy getting ready on and off the field, the staff here at Throwing with Coach has also been working on adding some new components to the fray. No longer willing to stand for simple pen and paper the staff went out and hired a team of actors (German ones), as well as script writers, and an entire camera crew for this year’s season preview.  Don’t worry it is all in sub titles for any non German speakers.

So without delay, I give to you the 2012 Wood season preview in all its glory. We’ll see you on the field. Go WoOOOOD!
